Gulp. Glad I read the above that after your trip began. You must be somewheres between N' Orleans and Lanta by now. Hope you're having smooth sailing.

Oh I do love grits! And the tip on the demiglace is great, I will definitely be adding that to my repertoire!

I've only spent a couple of hours in Georgia - Savannah, actually - but I really enjoyed it. It's a place I am definitely looking forward to spending more time in whenever we can get around to traveling again.

(And did I hear something about sweet potato risotto? Because I second the call for sharing :) .)

Good luck to you. As a southern California person myself, as much as I can say it's lovely, I'd enjoy being you and headed to something new. Don't tell anybody. Plus -- this short ribs recipe sounds amazing. And can you please share the sweet potato risotto recipe mentioned above? :)

girl! have the best road trip ever- if you're taking the low road, you should stop in rachel, nv. weird little motel there called the little alien. or the little aile-inn? can't remember how they spelled it- but it's about a hundred miles from a gallon of milk and you get to sleep in your own little desert trailer. lots of people out looking for spaceships. i made it sound nice, right? i really enjoy reading your blog. and i miss you. have fun in atl! maybe i'll make it back there one day, too. x.

I guess it's all a big time for new beginnings. New cooking school graduates, new professional memberships, new lives with the men! I'm so glad to be part of the LA chapter, and I'm looking forward to part II!
