Holy Mary, mother of God! This brown sugar-glazed bacon is the best thing to happen to breakfast since, well, bacon. Make a double batch... You're going to need it.

Who needs puff pastry when you've got a homemade biscuit topping? This is the one and only chicken pot pie recipe you will ever need. (And that's a promise!)
Dixie Caviar's Video Debut
Check out my cooking video debut. I'm making Dixie Caviar!
Happy New Year! I hope y'all had a fabulous holiday season filled with laughter & light.
I took a much-needed break this December to really focus on what matters most in my life—family, friends, and (you guessed it!) food. And while I was definitely cooking up a storm, wrapping lots of gifts, and sipping on plenty of champagne, I decided to keep it to myself. Sometimes it is so easy to get caught up with "social media" and "online presence" that we forget to be present in real life. And real life is what it's all about!
Now I'm back and feeling better than ever. I've been busy hashing out some new column ideas and recipes that I look forward to sharing with you soon. In the meantime, here's a link to my video debut, shot and edited by my talented fiancé in Dixie Caviar's very own kitchen. I was a little camera-shy at first, but I think with a little practice I may just be able to get the hang of it. (Thank goodness you can't see the hidden glass of wine!)
I'd love to know your thoughts, so give me a shout in the comments section.
Holiday Leftovers Recipe: White Turkey Chili (The Kitchn)
I first made white turkey chili after Thanksgiving this year, in an attempt to use up our pounds and pounds of leftover bird. The recipe was immediately declared a new all-time favorite and will now hold a place in our annual holiday rotation! If you are looking for the perfect day-after-Christmas recipe, your search stops here.
Recipe: Christmas "Circus" Cookies (Cooking Channel)
Do you remember Mother's Circus Animal Cookies, those completely amazing pink and white frosted cookies of your youth. (Wait, how old are you?)
I LOVED those preservative-laden treats, so much so that I cried when they went out of business, cheered with glee when they returned, and pouted when they didn't sell them in Georgia. I took matters in my own hands and decided to make my own. Even better, I dressed them up in holiday clothes—now they're almost too cute to eat! (Almost.)
